An AI-supported Clinical Decision Support System (CDSS) developed to enhance the delivery of personalized and evidence-based smoking cessation services. The project combines clinical expertise, behavioral science, and artificial intelligence to support healthcare professionals throughout the patient assessment and intervention planning process.
Developed as a proof-of-concept in collaboration with public health experts from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine, the system analyzes patient characteristics, smoking behaviors, and potential barriers to quitting in order to generate tailored recommendations and support clinical decision-making.
By transforming complex clinical and behavioral data into actionable insights, the platform aims to improve the consistency, efficiency, and personalization of smoking cessation services. Initial findings have demonstrated the feasibility of AI-assisted decision support in this field, and further development is underway to expand the system’s capabilities and real-world applicability.
